Pasting the Link Into Google Won't Tell You If It's AI
A lot of people paste a video link straight into Google with "is this real?" or "is this AI?" in front of it. It's a reasonable thing to try, but it doesn't work. Google searches for pages whose text matches what you typed. It doesn't open the video behind the link, so it can't tell you anything about the video itself.
To check the video, something has to actually fetch it and look at the frames. That's what this page does. Paste the same link into the checker above and you get an answer about the video, not a list of pages that happen to contain the URL.
How to Copy a Video Link
Every app hides the link in the Share menu. Here's where to find it:
- TikTok: tap Share (the arrow on the right of the video), then Copy link. Check more TikToks with our TikTok deepfake detector.

Then paste the link into the checker at the top of this page. On a phone, tap and hold the box and choose Paste.
What Your Result Means
Every check gives you an AI signal score from 0 to 100, a verdict, a plain-English explanation, and the top signal the detector found.
- Likely Human: low AI signal in this video. Nothing in the frames looks machine-made.
- Unclear: mixed signals. Worth a closer look before you share it.
- Likely AI: strong synthetic-media signals, the kind left by AI video generators, face swaps, and lip-sync edits.
- Inconclusive: the video couldn't be read, usually because the post is private, deleted, or too short. Save the video and upload the file instead.

When a Link Won't Work
- Private accounts: if you need to be logged in to see the video, the checker can't fetch it either.
- Deleted or expired posts: once a post or story is gone, its link leads nowhere.
- YouTube: YouTube links aren't supported right now.
In each case the fix is the same: save the video to your phone or computer and use Upload in the checker to scan the file directly.
