HumanMeter ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Content URLs: When you scan content via link, we receive the URL you paste. URLs are not stored after analysis is complete.
  • Uploaded Media: When you upload photos, videos, or voice recordings from your Camera Roll, media is transmitted for analysis and immediately discarded after processing. We do not retain uploaded content.
  • Purchase Information: If you purchase credit packs through in-app purchases, Apple handles all payment processing. We only receive confirmation of your purchase, not payment details.

Automatically Collected Information

  • Device Identifier: A random anonymous ID to track your credit balance and free scan usage across sessions.
  • Usage Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app (screens viewed, features used, scan counts, Trust Gym participation).
  • Crash Reports: If the app crashes, we receive anonymous diagnostic information to fix bugs.

ProofCam and On-Device Processing

  • ProofCam: When you use ProofCam, all capture and initial processing occurs entirely on your device. Only the media you choose to scan is transmitted to our servers for analysis.
  • On-Device Data: Scan history, Trust Gym progress, and credit balances are stored locally on your device.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide AI detection analysis services for photos, videos, and voices
  • To process in-app purchases and manage credit balances
  • To generate Proof Pack verification receipts with HMAC-signed hashes
  • To deliver Trust Gym challenges and track your accuracy progress
  • To improve the app experience and detection accuracy
  • To fix bugs and technical issues

Proof Pack and Verification Receipts

When you generate a Proof Pack, we create a cryptographic receipt containing the AI Score, timestamp, and an HMAC-signed hash. This receipt verifies that the analysis was performed by HumanMeter. Proof Pack receipts do not contain the original content -- only the verification metadata. When you share a Proof Pack, the recipient can verify its authenticity without accessing your original media.

Credit System Data

  • Credit Balance: Stored securely in your device's Keychain
  • Purchase History: Apple maintains your purchase records; we store only credit balance updates
  • Earned Credits: Credits earned through Trust Gym challenges or Proof Pack sharing are tracked locally on your device
  • Free Scan Usage: Daily free scan counts reset automatically and are tracked via your anonymous device identifier

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Data Retention

  • Content (photos, videos, voices, URLs): Not stored after analysis (typically under 60 seconds)
  • Scan History: Stored locally on your device only
  • Trust Gym Data: Challenge results and accuracy scores stored locally on your device
  • Proof Pack Receipts: Stored locally on your device; shared receipts contain only verification metadata
  • Analytics: Retained for up to 14 months by Firebase
  • Credit Balance: Stored securely in your device's Keychain

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all API communications
  • Secure Keychain storage for sensitive data on your device
  • HMAC-signed verification for Proof Pack receipt integrity
  • On-device processing for ProofCam capture
  • No storage of personally identifiable information on our servers

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Delete your local scan history (in app Settings)
  • Delete your Trust Gym progress (in app Settings)
  • Request deletion of any data we may have
  • Opt out of analytics (contact us)

Children's Privacy

HumanMeter is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
