Find answers to common questions about AI signal scanning for photos, videos, and voices.
Frequently Asked Questions
HumanMeter is an iOS and Android app that scans photos, videos, and voices for AI signals. Paste a link from social media or upload from your photo library, and HumanMeter returns a confidence score with context behind the result. Features include Deep Scan analysis, Quick Check scanning, AI Scores, Trust Gym training challenges, ProofCam on-device review, and shareable result receipts.
HumanMeter offers two scan modes:
- Deep Scan: Extracts multiple frames and performs thorough pattern analysis for synthetic artifacts, temporal inconsistencies, and manipulation signals. Best when you need more context.
- Quick Check: A faster initial assessment that provides a rapid AI Score. Good for everyday scrolling.
HumanMeter supports content from:
- TikTok
- Instagram (Reels and posts)
- Snapchat
- X (Twitter)

Yes. HumanMeter includes 3 free scans per day, no account required. For heavier usage, credit packs are available as one-time in-app purchases. Credits never expire. You can also earn bonus credits by sharing result receipts and completing Trust Gym challenges.
An AI Score is a confidence signal from 0 to 100 based on observed AI-signal patterns. A score near 0 suggests lower AI signal, while a score near 100 suggests stronger AI signal. No AI media scanner is 100% accurate -- use the AI Score as one factor in your overall assessment.
A result receipt is a shareable scan summary generated after each scan. It includes the AI Score, timestamp, observed signals, and an HMAC-signed hash that helps reopen the result context and show it has not been tampered with. Share receipts when someone needs context, not an accusation.
Trust Gym is a daily challenge feature that trains your ability to notice AI-signal patterns in media. Each day you receive photos, videos, or voice clips and make a call before seeing the context. Completing challenges earns bonus credits and tracks your accuracy over time.
When HumanMeter recognizes a known public figure in scanned content, it flags the result for extra scrutiny. This is especially important when the celebrity is deceased or appears in an unusual context. The alert is a caution signal -- it does not mean the content is definitely synthetic.
Your original upload is deleted as soon as analysis finishes. We keep your score, the link you scanned, and up to three low-resolution blurred still frames so your history and receipts keep working. Scanned text is not saved to our database. ProofCam operates entirely on-device. Result receipts use HMAC signatures to verify a scan without exposing your original media. No account, email address, or real name is required. Analysis runs on a paid Google Gemini tier, under which Google does not use your content to train its models.
